Public Assistance Needed on Auto vs. Pedestrian Crash in Adams County

On December 8, 2009 at approximately 10:35 a.m., Colorado State Troopers responded injury crash on westbound Interstate 76 and Interstate 25 in Adams County. A blue 2008 GMC Sierra was westbound on Interstate 76. The GMC spun out of control and travelled off the left side of the highway. The GMC pickup impacted the side of a brown 1978 Ford pickup which was stopped on scene of a previous non-injury crash.


The GMC pickup then struck two pedestrian who had previously occupied the Ford pickup. The GMC continued off the left side of the highway and impacted a concrete barrier.

The restrained driver of the GMC has been identified as Billy Le, age 53 of Denver, Colo. Le sustained minor injuries and was transport to via ambulance St Anthony Hospital North in Westminster.

The pedestrians have been identified as Pedro Salcido-Perez, age 39 of Brighton, Colo and Sergio Villanueve, age 17 of Brighton, Colo. Salcido-Perez sustained serious injuries and Villanueve sustained moderate injuries. Both were transported via ambulance to Denver Health.

Alcohol or drugs are not suspected as contributing factors.

The leading contributing factor in this crash was the driver traveling too fast for the road conditions. The Colorado State Patrol would like to remind motorists to slow down and use caution as they drive through inclement conditions and when approaching an accident or stranded motorist.
